Cultivating Tomorrow: Empowering Youth Workers for a Green Future

The ‘Cultivating Tomorrow’ aims to equip participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to drive sustainable change and combat the climate crisis while improving youth participation in democratic life, fostering thereby positive change both within society and ecosystems. The project aims to have participants understand, engage with and value the natural world and its biodiversity, create a sense of curiosity and wonder and learn to act for sustainability. The participants will learn about the practical implementation but also the advocacy and knowledge-sharing around permaculture, regenerative agriculture, soil health, biodiversity preservation and veganism.

Guided by Giuseppe Sannicandro, an internationally recognized trainer in the domain of permaculture, 30 participants from 5 countries will be equipped with a comprehensive set of knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to excel in the domains of permaculture, regenerative agriculture, veganism and environmental education, as well as youth work.

The Cultivating Tomorrow training will last for 12 days (excluding travel time) and will gather 30 youth workers from France, Italy, Portugal, Spain, and Greece. It will take place between 23 October and 3 November 2024 at a rural farm outside the city of Megara, Greece, which is now initiating its transition towards permaculture.

A mix of dynamic and interactive methods including hands-on workshops, group discussions, open space technology, problem-based learning (PBL), will ensure an engaging and effective learning experience. The farm venue complements these methods by providing a real-world context for learning about ecosystems, sustainability, veganism and permaculture.

The aim of this training is to engage, support, and facilitate accelerated learning and collaboration among youth workers and youth leaders from across Europe, empowering them with the knowledge, skills, and networks necessary to drive transformative change and pave the way for a more sustainable future.

Our training focuses on capacity building, connecting people, and enhancing the skills of all participants. It aims to bring valuable knowledge to our communities, fostering positive change on both regional and national level for all involved participants and partner organizations.

This course is co-funded by the European Union through the Erasmus+ framework. We are deeply grateful for this support and extend our heartfelt thanks to the Greek National Agency for their exceptional assistance and dedication.
